GSTHow to verify a digitally signed invoice (e-invoice)
Updated June 2026 · 5 min read
Accounts-payable teams and finance managers deal with a steady stream of vendor invoices, and not all of them are what they claim to be. When a supplier signs an invoice digitally — or when it comes from a GST e-invoicing system — you can confirm the amount, GSTIN and bank details were not tampered with before you release payment.
Why verify an invoice signature?
Invoice fraud often works by intercepting a genuine invoice and quietly changing the payee's bank account. A digital signature makes that impossible to hide: any edit after signing breaks the cryptographic seal. Verifying the signature before payment is a simple control that protects against exactly this kind of business-email-compromise attack.
Verify a signed invoice
- Obtain the original signed invoice PDF from the vendor.
- Upload it to our signature verifier.
- Click Verify and confirm a green verdict, plus the signer and issuing CA.
A green result means the invoice is intact and signed by a trusted certificate. A red or "modified" result on an invoice you're about to pay is a strong signal to pause and re-confirm the details directly with the vendor over a known channel.
Raising your own signed invoices
If you're on the other side and want to send invoices your customers can trust, start with clean, compliant invoices. Our sister tool Invoice Generators is a free GST invoice generator for Indian businesses — create professional invoices in minutes, then sign them with your DSC so recipients can verify them right here.
